MONOPOLY, the world-famous game, takes you through the history of the most famous cryptocurrency in the world with this special edition: Bitcoin.
Bitcoin (or BTC for short) is a decentralized digital currency that is not controlled by any government or central authority. It was introduced in 2009 by an unknown person or group under the name Satoshi Nakamoto.
Bitcoin uses a technology called blockchain, which allows transactions to be made between users without intermediaries such as banks. Bitcoin transactions are recorded and verified on a distributed network of computers around the world. Bitcoins can be bought, sold and sent online and are used as digital signatures during transactions. Bitcoin is the most well-known cryptocurrency and has a limited total supply of 21 million, achieved through blockchain technology.
Terms like HODL, DYOR or “Not your keys, not your coins!” are known to all Bitcoin enthusiasts. Since 2009, Bitcoin has gained millions of supporters and fans worldwide – and the number is growing every day.
